Minister's Message, February 2011

Our upcoming move to Sierra Middle School on March 6, brings to mind the old Willie Nelson song, On the Road Again.

This happy tune is part of my west Texas background -- and if you know the song, you know it's upbeat, looking forward to traveling and singing with friends along the highway of life and "hope you're going my way!"

The story of our church for the last 11 years has been one of journeying. This will be our fifth location and our fourth school. Every move has helped us build our church and has added new people to our community. This move is necessary because our education program for our young people has outgrown the space at Prairie Crossing. It's a wonderful problem to have.

Sierra Middle School will more than double the size of our classrooms and offer us all kinds of new types of rooms for Sunday mornings. The Cafetorium will give us at least a third more space for worship and includes a raised stage so that people will be able to see better.

We will live into this journey at our last service at Prairie Crossing on Sunday, February 27. After the service, we will pack up our church, get in our cars and make a caravan to Sierra Middle School. We will have an Open House and Fellowship Hour there and get to know our new location, before our official first service on March 6.

I hope you will join with us as we continue on our journey and be proud of how much we have accomplished at Prairie Crossing. It is a time of singing, celebration and excitement. Change always brings its challenges, too, of course, so be gentle with one another. But this time we are in charge of the move and are making a choice for positive change. I, and your leadership, believe we have found a great new location for our beloved community.

I hope you're going our way! In Peace,
Jann
